Feast of St Joseph the Worker 2020

Today is the Feast of St Joseph the Worker. Bishop Vincent Long has issued a Pastoral Message for this occasion entitled "Social Solidarity in a Time of Social Distancing". The message reflects on the impact of COVID-19 on our daily lives, the different ways that we adapt to this challenge and encourages us to think about what are really the most important things in life. The message also reflects on when the health crisis is over.

The 106th World Day of Migrants and Refugees

This year's World Day of Migrants and Refugees will be celebrated on 27 September 2020. The Holy Father has chosen "Forced like Jesus Christ to flee" as the theme of this special event. The message will focus on pastoral care for internally displaced people around the world. The message originates from the experience of Jesus and his family as displaced persons and refugees.

Migrants, refugees and internally displaced people and victims of human trafficking need our help more than ever. It is likely that they are suffering even more from the effects of the coronavirus without being infected by the deadly disease.

The Migrants and Refugees Section bulletin shares innovations and good practices of Catholics who seek to assist displaced vulnerable people during the COVID-19 emergency.
