Denise became involved in the support of Seasonal Workers in the Northern Midlands area, south of Launceston, in 2018. A Small Grant from the John Wallis Foundation led to organising a Community Welcome Party for the Seasonal Workers in November 2019. The success of the event led to the Australia Day Event of the Year Award, by the Northern Midlands Council.
